Gains and Loss

Let's be honest...most people are generally dissatisfied with some aspect of their appearance, correct? See me, I'm one of those people that looks great in clothes, because I buy my clothes in MY size (18), but I generally dislike what I see in the mirror (body-wise), when I look in the mirror. I don't think I've worn a bikini since I was 13 or 14, and that was a LONG time ago.

Frankly, I never put much thought into what I ate or my level of physical (in)activity until I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Last year, I decided it was time to change all of that, and began watching what I ate, counting calories, and working out. And for a while, I did great...loss 20 lbs, several inches, and had A LOT of energy...then the inevitable happened...I fell off the wagon. I didn't hold myself accountable. I've since gained and loss small amounts and today I rest at a minus 10.8 lbs from where I started on this journey last April.

So anyway, after many personal (relationship) battles, I'm finally in a place where I matter most and am back on the wagon...well let's call it the train, because I'm in it for the long haul. Initial goal of 50lbs...

My method? Workout - 5 days a week, focusing on cardio; and eating right - whole grains, complex carbs, lean meats, fruits, veggies, and lots of water. So far, so good. I'll have to post some pictures eventually, but I suck at that, honestly...especially since I'm relying on my phone's camera, because my camera mysteriously died after over four solid years of use...go figure.
